Frequently Asked Questions
Waistband Facts
Why should I wear the waistband? The waistband keeps the upper portion of your pouch system tight against your body. It helps to conceal and to prevent leaks. It is comfortable enough to be worn all day long.
How is the waistband made? The waistband is elastic and is made from 89% nylon and 11% spandex. It is 8cm (3.15” wide) and is perforated - meaning that it is very breathable. The interior edges are lined with silicone to provide a firm grip and keep it from slipping up or down on the waist.
How do I wear the waistband? Simply place it around your waist covering the upper half of your barrier/wafer opening and attach it using three snaps. There are three sets of snaps one inch apart to allow for a range of sizes.
How do I care for the waistband? We would recommend only hand washing.
Does the waistband extend the life of my pouch system? Yes, it can, especially for people with a urostomy.
Where is the waistband made? It is hand-made in the USA.
Shower Guard Facts
How does the shower guard work? The shower guard is made with a 12” x 12’ sheet of clear marine vinyl. It has a waterproof foam strip at the top and is attached with an elastic band. It also has an elastic cord underneath the vinyl to help drape the pouch into position. When worn properly, it should keep your pouch and your barrier 100% dry.
How do I position the shower guard properly? You must be sure to check that the top of the shower guard is above any dips or folds in the belly and skin that would allow water past the waterproof barrier at the top. If not positioned properly it could allow your pouch and barrier to get wet.
Can I trim the shower guard? Yes you may if you find that there is plenty of coverage and you want more room to wash. We recommend only trimming it 2” at a time and trying it again.
